ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 8/9/08 - Second-generation racer Chad Criswell caught polesitter and race-long leader Jeff Rohrbaugh in lapped traffic and went on to score his first career Lincoln win in the regularly-scheduled 20-lap "358" sprint feature. Criswell started on the outside row and spotted Rohrbaugh the race lead over the first 11 laps. Criswell went to the top side to pass both the lapped car and Rohrbaugh as the three cars exited turn four of lap 12. He led the rest of the way, with eighth-starting Brad McClelland getting by Rohrbaugh for the runner-up spot on lap 16, just before a red flag came out for the flipping cars of Gerard McIntyre, Jr. and Matt Boland in turn one of lap 17. Criswell, McClelland, and Rohrbaugh ran first-through-third over the final four laps, with Billy Dietrich coming from 12th-starting spot to cross fourth and Nate Hammaker fifth. Rohrbaugh’s third-place finish combined with his win at Trail-Way on Friday night earned him his second Trail-Way/Lincoln "Shootout" championship in the last three years. Brad McClelland and Tim Wagaman were second and third in the two-night "Shootout," sponsored by York Floor Racing, DS Diversified Services, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, Insinger Racing Fuels, Delco Signs, and Don Ott Racing Engines. Heats for the 41 "358" Sprints were won by Nicole Bower, McIntyre, Adrian Shaffer, and Tim Wagaman. Twin consolations were won by Austin Reed and Steve Owings. Earlier in the evening, Denny Gross started on the pole and led every lap to score his first "358" sprint win in 11 years in the make-up feature from last Saturday night. Gross started on the pole and dominated the early stages of the race while many of the division’s top drivers were working their way from the back of the pack. But it got interesting at the end. Jeff Rohrbaugh started 14th and closed quickly on Gross after getting by Colt White for second on the 18th lap. What had been a substantial lead dwindled to less than a carlength at the finish. White, Austin Reed, and Craig Myers completed the top five.
