ABBOTTSTOWN, PA , 8/23/08 -

Ricky Stonebraker wasn’t sure he’d make the call for his heat race in the "358" sprints, but after damaging the front end of his sprinter in warm-ups made repairs in time to win both his heat and the 20-lap feature event. It was Stonebraker’s first career sprint car win, and he credited Cory Haas for lending him front shocks to make the show.

Stonebraker started on the outside of the front row and led every lap of the race, with wild racing behind him throughout the event. Jeff Rohrbaugh, who started 12th, came through the field to edge Eric Tomecek at the finish line for second, with Bob Anderson crossing fourth and Adam Wilt fifth. Completing the top ten were Adrian Shaffer, Danny Dietrich, Brian Eichelberger, Kyle Pruitt, and Kevin Nagy.

Like the "410" sprint division, there will be a new points leader at the top for the final "358" sprint race of the year in two weeks. Scott Geesey, who entered the night as the points leader, crashed in his qualifying event and was done for the night. Billy Dietrich, who entered the night fourth in points, took a violent series of flips down the front stretch in his heat, and was also done for the night.

Rohrbaugh’s second-place finish vaulted him into the points lead by 25 point over Gerard McIntyre, Jr. with only the "358" championship event remaining on the Lincoln schedule for the division.

Heats for the 43 "358" Sprints were won by Stonebraker, Anderson, Danny Dietrich, and Tim Wagaman. Twin consolations were won by Nagy and Chad Criswell.
